the compote curse

compote is not only something that most people hate, but also a dish that many don’t even know about.

this stewed fruit dish can be lumpy seasonal fruits mixed together in an unappealing way. on the other hand, the dish can be a beautifully stained red cranberry bounty, embellished with pears and apples.

compote is not rocket science.

for a quick side dish that is the perfect sweet, light pair to the heaviest of holiday dishes read for the simple instructions!

all you’ll need to do is pop a bag of fresh cranberries in a medium-sized pot.  add a splash of water and stew until the berries release some flesh. simply dice one pear and one apple and continue to let simmer at a low heat for about 30 minutes. finish off with a splash of cranberry juice and agave sweetener for a fabulous and flavorful side to go along with that rich stuffing and mashed potatoes.ImageImageImageImage
