warming up to winter

Following this polar vortex we’ve been experiencing on the east, I found it high time to soften the harshness winter brings. Each night, I hibernated next to the fireplace holding a cup of steaming almond milk hot chocolate. The nuttiness of the almond basically makes this confection taste like peanut butter hot cocoa!

here’s what you’ll need:

About 3 tbs. ghiradelli hot chocolate mix

1-2 cups of almond milk

Sugar to taste

This recipe is loose because it all depends on how chocolatey, sweet, milky, or thick you like your cocoa. Therefore, the only guideline is to boil the almond milk in a saucepan until warm. If desired, you can use a handheld frother to create a more light consistency and a nice texture. Add in your cocoa mix and maybe a few squares of chocolate and you are set to park it with blankets and “Breaking Bad” for a night in.
